Melbourne deathcore outfit Boris The Blade played their final show on Friday, 3 May 2019, at the Evelyn Hotel. They announced their disbandment a few months earlier. After nine years as a band, two albums, two EPs and tons of brutal live shows, Boris The Blade called it quits.

The original statement via Metal Purgatory Media read: “Hail everyone ! After almost 9 years, Boris The Blade have decided to call it a day.

“It was a hard & sad decision to make over the past couple of months by all members of the band. Music has been a big part of our lives and has taken up a lot of our time as individuals.

“Of late, priorities, circumstances and other interests in life have taken us all in different directions to BTB. We love all the music we have made and have been fortunate to have toured the world and met so many amazing people. We appreciate all the support and can’t thank our fans enough.”

Today, vocalist Daniel Sharp has unveiled his debut single, The Iceman, under his new moniker, The Bullet Dodger. Freed from the expectations of his previous band, Sharp gets to simply let loose.

He’s still a beast. The Iceman is a suitably crushing number - not that you’d expect anything less from the frontman of a deathcore band. Check out the thrilling, bloody music video below.

On a Kill Your Stereo review of the Boris The Blade album The Human Hive, we concluded that “Boris The Blade haven't just hit the deathcore nail on the head, they've smashed it to bits and made it their own. They've kept The Human Hive short, sweet and to the point.

“From beginning to end, it's a record that's heavy for the sake of being heavy, with a whole new layer added to it in the form of ambient song breaks, piano melodies and some siren-like guitar tones. For all these reasons and more, we're glad to call Boris the Blade Australian!”
