Boom Crash Opera Announce 2024 Australian Tour With 1927

Get ready to rock in March and April 2024, as Boom Crash Opera hit the road with special guests 1927 for their The Best Things tour.

“FRESH TOUR NEWS Crashies,” Boom Crash Opera stated on Facebook yesterday (22 November). “We will be hitting the road with the awesome 1927 next March/April. We'll be taking in Geelong, Melbourne, Adelaide, Frankston, Brissy, Gold Coast, FREO, PERTH, Sydney and Wollongong!”

The two bands start the tour at Geelong’s Wool Exchange on Friday, 1 March, before hitting the cities listed above. The tour ends at Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul on Saturday, 6 April. You can check out all the tour dates below – tickets are on sale now via the Boom Crash Opera website.

The Best Thing is the third single from Boom Crash Opera’s second album, These Here Are Crazy Times, released in October 1989. The single landed a month later. As well as featuring on the album, The Best Thing was included in the 1991 film Don’t Tell Mum The Babysitter’s Dead and its soundtrack.

Upon its initial release, The Best Thing peaked at #67 on the ARIA Singles Chart, while the album landed at #10 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

In the US, the singles The Best Thing and Talk About It were reworked and re-recorded by renowned producer Jimmy Iovine, who worked with Boom Crash Opera after U2’s Bono became a fan during the band’s 1989 Love Town Australian tour.
