Bob Mould Announces Copper Blue Tour For March 2013

One of the undisputed forefathers of alternative rock, Bob Mould, will be returning to Australia in March next year for a run of headline dates. The tour will see the veteran guitarist and singer play all of Copper Blue, the classic 1992 album from his second band Sugar, at each show.

The album was a watershed moment in alternative rock, fusing Hüsker Dü's distortion-lathered punk riffs with Mould's increasingly infectious power pop hooks and mature lyrics. Critically-acclaimed and pioneering a sound which has since been widely imitated, Copper Blue was named 1992's Album Of The Year by NME and was partly responsible for the surge of alternative rock and power punk throughout the 90s. The album has been reissued this year to celebrate it's 20-year anniversary.

Punters can hear the Copper Blue full at each of the upcoming shows, including highlights 'Changes', 'Helpless' and 'Hoover Dam'. Fans of Mould's other work won't be left out, however, as the set also promises to contain a healthy smattering of Hüsker Dü tunes as well as cuts off Mould's agressive 2012 solo release, Silver Age.
