Mega American festivals can’t go ahead with at least one surprise, and Coachella has three surprise guests heading to the desert on weekend one of the festival, starting tomorrow.

James Blake has scored a slot for tomorrow, The Weeknd is teasing a surprise appearance, and thrillingly for us, blink-182 have been added to the schedule for weekend one.

Tomorrow, at 6:45 PT (that’s 11:45 am AEST), blink-182 will take the Sahara stage. Blink-182’s appearance will be their first with the classic lineup of Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge since 2014. You can watch their performance on YouTube.

Blink-182’s reunion tour was set to begin last month, but the band faced a devastating setback after Barker experienced a finger injury.

Tom DeLonge rejoined blink-182 in October. The band then released a new song, Edging.

The first song to feature the classic lineup of Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker since 2012, the jovial mid-tempo pop-punk track comes to life with Tom's trademark vocal tone delivering the first line "I ain’t that cool a little fucked in the head" over a swinging beat from Barker, his voice taking a leading role against a backdrop of subtle guitar and bass work, before taking off with an earworm of a chorus that features Tom and Mark's infamous vocal interplay.

The pop-punk legends’ “biggest tour ever” kicks off across North America with Turnstile starting in May. The trio then head to Europe with The Story So Far. Blink-182 will finally reach Australia and New Zealand in February 2024 with Rise Against

In December, the band revealed that they were working on the next story in the Anthem saga, with the band teasing Anthem Pt. 3 on Instagram.

Anthem was released on the American pop punk band's breakthrough album, 1999's Enema Of The State, and received a sequel in 2001 with Anthem Pt. 2 featuring on the album Take Off Your Pants And Jacket. A live rendition of Anthem Pt. 2 appeared as a bonus track on the Untitled record (2003).
