Beyoncé's Dad Wants To Hear 'One Last Album' From Destiny's Child

Beyoncé’s father, Matthew Knowles, the manager of Destiny’s Child, wants the iconic R&B music trio featuring his daughter, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams to reunite and release “one last album”.

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight on Monday (22 May), he said, “It’s a decision that the ladies would have to make and I would certainly, certainly support that decision as I still manage Destiny’s Child. I would love to see that as well.”

Knowles added, “I think the fans will be just overjoyed, overwhelmed, and hopefully, they do one last time in their career. Hopefully, they give us one last album. Who knows? You never know. You never say it can’t happen. Because this is entertainment. A lot of things can happen.”

Destiny’s Child disbanded 17 years ago. Since releasing their 2004 album, Destiny Fulfilled and their greatest hits album, #1s a year later, the trio have reunited a few times – most notably, at Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella headlining appearance.

In 2013, the trio reformed on Rowland’s 2013 track You Changed from the album Talk A Good Game. In 2014, the three music superstars sang on Williams’ gospel song, Say Yes. The band also appeared in the visuals for Beyoncé’s 2015 self-titled album.

Destiny’s Child’s second album and last album featuring four band members, 1999’s The Writing’s On The Wall, featured the gigantic hit singles, Bills, Bills, Bills, Say My Name and Jumpin, Jumpin. The album landed at #2 on the ARIA Albums Chart, as well as the Dance Chart, and #1 on the Urban Chart.

The follow-up album, 2001’s Survivor, featured the huge title track, Bootylicious, and Nasty Girl. Survivor sold over 10 million copies by 2004, making it one of the highest-selling albums of any girl group.

Last year, heavy music chameleons Nova Twins revealed how Destiny’s Child impacted their careers in music. Vocalist/guitarist Amy Love explained, "I would say this one is for both of us and it's Destiny’s Child. Obviously, Queen B is in the mix, but that three-piece were a force to be reckoned with.

“They were powerful and beautiful, the messages on like Independent Women, and Survivor, I think that was our first introduction as young women, seeing that band exist was like, 'wow,' because it obviously rocked at the time and there was no one else. That really made us feel strong and beautiful as young mixed women growing up".
