More Bad Party More Bad Party

Brisbane’s Bad Party rose out of the ashes of Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions in 2020.

Marrying metal music with EDM from the beginning, the band’s new track, Want It, is no surprise for anyone who’s been following their career thus far, but the strength of the single is a hell of a way to bring new music into 2023.

The Brisbane four-piece – Henry Epong, Daniel Long, Campbell Henderson and Lachlan Baynes – released their six-track EP, Beyond Repair, last year, and found fans in triple j, triple j Unearthed, and Hysteria Mag, to name a few.

Prior to Beyond Repair, the band dropped the singles Welcome To The Party and Run in 2021.

Bad Party sold out their first-ever live show at King Lear’s Throne in Brisbane and since then, have supported Banks Arcade for their sold-out Brisbane show in February and performed at AM/PM Emo Night alongside Clay J Gladstone.

Want It teases listeners with a touch of trance-inducing EDM before shattering into hard and fast heavy rock riffs.

The single unleashes a barrage of sound that showcases the impressive abilities of the band, with smashing drums, crushing guitars, and aggressive bass lines all coming together to form an epic wall of noise.

Explosive and upbeat, Epong’s vocals pack a punch and soar through the cathartic chorus. With a string of heavy-hitting bass tunes to his name already, Epong built a fanbase as electronic solo artist HVWKS.

“Storytelling is huge in our culture and to be able to tell our stories through our art is amazing,” Epong shared in an interview with The Music. “Music is also something that helps me identify myself and it gives me a voice to be able to share my story.”
