BABYMETAL Announce First-Ever Australian Headline Tour

Japanese metal queens BABYMETAL are finally coming to Australia for their first-ever headline tour down under this June as part of their World Tour.

Kicking off in Brisbane on Thursday, 8 June, at the Fortitude Music Hall, the tour will travel down the east coast to Sydney on Friday, 9 June, at the Hordern Pavilion and then Melbourne on Sunday, 11 June, at Margaret Court Arena.

BABYMETAL have become a global phenomenon since their formation in 2010 and have already gathered an incredible list of accolades. 

They became the first Japanese artist to headline the prestigious Wembley Arena in the UK in 2016, performed at Good Things Festival as their Australian debut appearance in 2018 and performed at Glastonbury Festival. 

The group have been dubbed “the future of metal” by Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford, and with their unique blend of metal and Japanese pop music, it’s hard to argue against that.

Band members Nakamoto Suzuka as "Su-metal" and Kikuchi Moa as "Moametal" are known for focusing on real-world issues that particularly affect women such as bullying, the pressure put on teenage girls to remain thin and the always-changing concept of an “ideal woman" - all subjects that have resonated with an audience around the world.

BABYMETAL are releasing their fourth album, The Other One, next Friday, 24 March. “Through the METALVERSE, a restoration project called THE OTHER ONE will reveal a side of Babymetal we never knew existed. This is the ‘other’ story of Babymetal,” a press release reads. Pre-order the album here.
