The annual world and roots music festival expands their already-impressive music lineup

The annual Australasian Worldwide Music Expo has announced further additions to it's 2012 lineup.

The event, lasting between 15 to the 18 November, will showcase some of the finest roots music from around the world over multiple Melbourne venue (Arts Centre Melbourne, The Hi-Fi, Lounge, Toff in Town and Ding Dong Lounge) and will bring together some of the country's leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians and arts workers alongside prominent international acts.

Now performing at AWME 2012 will be singer-songwriter Kutcha Edwards; Australian reggae artist Bart Willoughby; electronic roots trio OKA; soulful country-rock soloist Lee “Sonnyboy” Morgan; melodic pop quartet The Medics; soul-funk multi-instrumentalist Dave Dow; acoustic-roots performer Benny Walker; the 'saltwater reggae' outfit East Journey and the alternative country singer-songwriter Sue Ray.

One of the highlights of this year's program will be the premiere of  Archie Roach's Into The Bloodstream, in which a 13-piece ensemble, a gospel choir and specially curated visuals will come together to tell the story of Archie's life, including his childhood and stolen years and the love of his life.

The Australiasian Worldwide Music Expo will also present an over 30 industry conference events, including a film program, networking sessions and a number of Indigenous-focused forums. We reported earlier on some of the key industry players that will be speaking this year.
