Plus all the performers for the night have been announced.

Revered Australian musician, producer, film and television composer Martin Armiger is set to be honoured at this year's Screen Music Awards with the inaugural Distinguished Services to the Australian Screen Award.

After starting his career in 1972 as the singer and guitarist for Melbourne rockers The Sports, Armiger has since composed fourteen feature films, a dozen telemovies and TV miniseries and as many documentaries, long-running TV series and short films.

Some of Armiger's credits include The Secret Life Of Us, Young Einstein, Thank God He Met Lizzie and Police Rescue.

"I am awed and 'umbled, shocked and delighted and very proud to be the inaugural recipient of this award," Armiger said.

"Can you be humble and proud at the same time? Well if you can be, I am. I want to say a thousand 'thank yous' to APRA AMCOS and the Guild for their support over a long period."

The music line-up for the event, taking place at Melbourne Recital Hall on Monday 13 November, has also been confirmed, with performances locked in by nominated artist Briggs and Caiti Baker, fellow nominee Justin Shave, as well as Missy Higgins who will take to the stage with her brother Dave Higgins.
