More The Kid LAROI More The Kid LAROI

The Kid LAROI and PNAU have landed at #3 and #4 on the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) Global Singles Chart for 2022.

STAY, The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's hit gained 1.74 billion plays in 2022, while PNAU's remix of Cold Heart by Elton John and Dua Lipa had 1.34 billion streams. At #1 is Harry Styles with As It Was, with 2.28 billion streams.

The Kid LAROI and PNAU are the only Aussies on the list, but they're surrounded by great company: Glass Animals, The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Kate Bush (Running Up That Hill with one billion streams last year), Jack Harlow, Lil Nas X, and more. Check out the rest of the list here.

"It is absolutely incredible to see two Australian acts in the top five global singles for 2022," ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd commented. "Congratulations to The Kid LAROI and PNAU for representing our incredible homegrown industry on the global stage.

"This again proves the world-class talent that exists within Australia and the enormous cultural and economic potential to be unlocked with more considered government support for Australian music."

The Kid LAROI released his second hit of the year yesterday, following Love Again a few weeks ago.

I GUESS IT'S LOVE is short, sitting at two minutes and 17 seconds, but boy does it pack a punch. With major feel-good energy, almost old school in nature akin to those big R&B hits that were huge in the 2000s or 2010s, like Kanye's Good Life or Pop Smoke's What You Know About Love, it's the rapper version of a sappy love song—filled with big beats, soulful background vocals, and big 'in-love' vibes.

In case you've forgotten, Cold Heart is a sparkly mashup of some classic John tunes re-recorded with Lipa on guest vocals. Kiss The Bride, Where’s The Shoorah?, Sacrifice and Rocketman are all blended together in this massive party track which PNAU said is a love letter to the eventual return to the dancefloor.

“Setting a stage for the two greatest performers in the world today, Sir Elton John and Dua Lipa, we knew we had to go in deep, take them into our world, the psychedelic laser black lit club. Where all of us can meet on the dance floor, forget the outside and lose ourselves in the healing waters of music and love eternal.”

Cold Heart is just the latest in a series of PNAU and Elton John crossovers, with the team first coming together in 2012 to release the number one album Good Morning To The Night (at the time, his first UK #1 in 22 years). Read all about their work together and how it got started here
