August Burns Red will return with a new album under their belt on 24 March 2023. Death Below is the band's tenth album and follows 2020's Guardians, which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Hard Music, Rock Albums, and Vinyl Albums charts

The melodic metalcore band have also unveiled the first single, Ancestry, featuring Killswitch Engage's Jesse Leach. Packed with blast beats and ferocious riffage while Leach and August Burns Red vocalist Jake Luhrs exchange clean and screamed vocals, the song follows a fast and heavy path before inserting some sweet melodic guitar lines. A breakdown comes in the bridge with some slick guitar work and growled vocals from Luhrs.

"Ancestry is a complex and technical ABR track held together by perhaps the most painful and personal lyrics Jake has ever written," says guitarist JB Brubaker. "I loved this song in every phase since its inception. From the instrumental rendition to the lyrics and vocals being added, to finally bringing it all together with Jesse's anthemic guest vocals, Ancestry is a song we've been looking forward to sharing with the world for a long time."

About the album, he says that it's the band's most personal to date. "It's no secret that the past few years have been extremely dark and challenging. Death Below is here as a result of that time in each of our lives and the emotions that came with it. We were motivated by uncertainty, fear, outrage, and triumph. I feel this is the darkest, most personal album we've ever written, and I couldn't be more proud of what the five of us made together."

Along with Luhrs and Brubaker, rhythm guitarist Brent Rambler, drummer Matt Greiner and bassist Dustin Davidson fire on all cylinders and prove why August Burns Red have found such longevity in the metalcore scene.

Joining Leach on a massive guest list, the album also hosts vocalists JT Cavey (ERRA) and Spencer Chamberlain (Underoath), as well as Chelsea Grin and All That Remains guitarist Jason Richardson
