More AC/DC More AC/DC

AC/DC are teasing something on social media, and while they haven’t officially announced anything, fans are speculating that the iconic rockers are finally returning to touring.

Taking to social media last night (6 February), the band shared a short clip featuring a flickering lightning bolt on a black background. The text “ARE YOU READY” appears on the video, with the band’s 1990 classic Are You Ready playing in the background.

It’s not much to go off, but it’s definitely a teaser for something big. We’re just hoping that if it’s a tour, AC/DC make their way back to Australia.

Fans have filled up the band’s comment section, writing “Announce the tour & take my money”, “UK dates with the one and only Mr Johnson on vocals please”, and “Please tell me you’re coming to Optus Stadium, Perth, Western Australia”. You can watch the teaser below.

If AC/DC announce a tour, the reveal will follow months of rumours that started with Dieter Reiter, the mayor of Munich, who let slip in a November interview that the rock band had a date locked at the city’s Olympic Stadium on 12 June 2024.

Reiter reportedly shared the details at a council meeting and told a reporter: “I didn't know it was supposed to be a secret.”

If AC/DC do return to Europe next year, it’ll be the first time audiences have seen the band with singer Brian Johnson since July 2015.

AC/DC returned to the stage last October, headlining the inaugural Power Trip festival alongside Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Tool and Guns N’ Roses.

The band played a career-spanning set that marked the first time they’d opened with If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It) while sharing the debut performances from 2020’s Power Up album (Shot In The Dark and Demon Fire). The band mainly focused on the classics, though, ripping through Back In Black, Highway To Hell, Hell’s Bells, Thunderstruck, You Shook Me All Night Long, Whole Lotta Rosie, and many more.

In October, The Music reported on speculation around the band’s rumoured first Australian tour since 2015 after Cherry Bar owner James Young posted this on Facebook after they headlined Power Trip festival in California:

A little birdy told me last night that AC/DC will 100% be touring Australia in 2024, and this Set List that they recently played at Power Trip Festival in California will be the precise set list we get.

If you want blood, you got it!

Now we all just need to pray that we get Melbourne-born drummer Phil Rudd back in the band for this Tour.
