Plans are in motion for an Amy Winehouse hologram world tour to commence in late 2019.

As NME reports, the BASE Hologram-led project, which has been given the green light by the Amy Winehouse Foundation and the Winehouse estate, will "utilise new state-of-the-art proprietary technology" and feature a live band and backing singers.

“This is a dream for us,”  the late singer's father, Mitch Winehouse, said in a statement.

“To see her perform again is something special that really can’t be put into words. Our daughter’s music touched the lives of millions of people and it means everything that her legacy will continue in this innovative and groundbreaking way.”

BASE Entertainment and BASE Hologram CEO and founder, Brian Becker, added, "Amy was a powerhouse in every sense of the word.

"She played by her own rules, pioneered her own sense of style of music and because of that we know she is the perfect person to headline this type of project.”

Winehouse tragically passed away in 2011 at the age of 27.

The news comes after ABBA confirmed this month that their own hologram tour is scheduled to kick off early next year.
