Amanda Palmer Announces Australian Tour Dates

The headline grabbing artist returns to her rabid Aussie fans.

More Amanda Palmer More Amanda Palmer

Amanda Palmer has been in music press headlines for all sorts of reasons over the past few weeks; she earned over a million bucks through a Kickstarter campaign to record, release and promote her new record Theatre Is Evil, an album recorded in Melbourne with a whole heap of Aussie musicians.

More recently she copped plenty of criticism for her decision to put out a call to her fans for auxiliary musicians to play with her on stage, essentially for free (there was some talk of beer and high-fives); Steve Albini particularly didn't like that and the two of them engaged in some entertaining online jabbering that's worth a look.

But it's all about the music, when it comes down to it, and Palmer's new record – her first in four years – has her fans pretty happy thus far. It sees Palmer take listeners on another rollercoaster of emotions, using the power of her very theatrical way of writing and performing to captivate listeners once more.

Part burlesque, part rock show, the Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra dates all across Australia in February next year promise to deliver in much the same way she always has for us over the years.
