Capping off a huge year opening for Northlane's national tour and following the announcement that they will open for Saosin in March 2023, Alt. have signed with Sharptone Records in the US and Australian label Resist Records. After the year they've had, who wouldn't want to sign them?

Sharptone is an independent record label founded by Nuclear Blast CEO Markus Staiger and former vice president of Sumerian Records, Shawn Keith. The label celebrates metalcore acts such as Polaris, August Burns Red, Story Of The Year, and many more. Resist Records, also independent, is based in Newtown, NSW. Alt. join a roster that boasts acts like Against Me!, La Dispute, Madball, Parkway Drive, and heaps more acts pushing hardcore, rock and metal forward.

The band shared the news on social media: "It's with great pleasure we announce our signing to @sharptonerecs & @resistrecords," they wrote. Alt. are also unveiling a brand-new single tonight, at 7 pm AEDT, entitled Wraith. Anyone who was listening to short.fast.loud. last night, however, would have heard the song.

From the teaser the band have shared, Wraith sounds like it will be a chaotic metal track in the vein of Every Time I Die but with Alt.'s signature flourishes.

UPDATE 18/11/22: Alt. have released Wraith, and it's HUGE. Blending unsettling electronics and turntables, light and shade, and fiery vocals, the song will surely go off live.

Last week, Destroy All Lines and Alt. revealed that they will be the special guests on the Orange County post-hardcore band Saosin's upcoming March 2023 Australian tour. "This will be VERY special & we are so excited to see you all again!" the band shared on Instagram. General public tickets went on sale this morning; Saosin and Alt. will perform at the Croxton Bandroom in Melbourne, Metro Theatre in Sydney, The Triffid in Brisbane, Adelaide's Lion Arts Factory, and the Amplifier Bar in Perth.

Adelaide fans can also catch Alt. at Drpout Festival on Saturday, 14 January 2023, alongside Ocean Sleeper, Dear Seattle, Future Static, and more.

At the Northlane, Plini, Sleep Token, and Alt. show at The Tivoli, we said about Alt.: "they ripped out a high-energy set. They are a band turning heads here, there and everywhere, so it's unsurprising that when catching up with singer Daniel later, hearing that there is lots of label interest in their next release... which is sick to hear! Congrats on an amazing, albeit speed-bump-filled tour run, lads. Well done on responding and acting on what has happened, and rising above and delivering solid AF performances."
