Respected US rock wizards Allah-Las will make their first trip to Australia this May for a five-date east-coast tour, they have announced.

Coming on the heels of new jam Hereafter and a new take of their single Autumn Dawn, released last Friday, the band will bring their acclaimed live show to the eastern Aussie shore from Friday 12 May, when they get under way at The Zoo, Brisbane.

The band's debut local run will also take in dates in Byron Bay, Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne, where they close out a week later on Friday 19 May at The Curtin.

The inaugural journey Down Under comes just under a decade into the band's career, which kicked off in 2008 as a passion project between three mates and co-workers at the iconic Amoeba Music record store. They released their self-titled debut album in 2012 before garnering widespread critical acclaim on sophomore full-length Worship The Sun in 2014.

Last year saw the release of their third LP, Calico Review, which the band recorded at Los Angeles' historic — and only recently revived — Valentine Recording Studio and saw them expand their sonic horizons to include instruments such as violin, harpsichord and Mellotron across the album's 12 tracks.

Having already knocked over shows in North and South America, Europe, South Africa, Russia, Mexico and Israel, it's Australia's chance at last to get a dose of some seriously brilliant, vintage-tinged garage/psych/surf/rock'n'roll. Needless to say, you'll want to get in quick on this one.
