The Melburnian prog-rockers are ready to jump right into 2016

More Acolyte More Acolyte

Melbourne prog-rockers Acolyte have announced an upcoming tour across the East Coast to showcase new single The Message.

The Message was released a fortnight ago along with its accompanying video, and provides an early taste of what the band have been laying down for their forthcoming full-length, Shades Of BlackThe tour itself has been a long-time coming for the four-piece, who headed into the studio in November last year with award-winning producer Ben Ehrenberg (Shihad, Calling All Cars) to work on the new album. Lead vocalist Morgan-Leigh Brown has extended herself to ensure that this tour — which she booked herself and describes as "a labour of love" — will be a memorable event for all, putting her "blood, sweat and tears" into making it happen.

Have a listen to the new cut below.

Riding shotgun with Acolyte will be fellow 'burnians The Soulenikoes, who are going from strength to strength as they continue to hone their live reputation, having offered up some mighty on-stage efforts in recent times.

Acolyte’s tour opens at their Melbourne hometown at The Bendigo, (8 January), and will set forth to grace the stages of Bendigo’s Musicman Megastore, (9 January), then up to Brisbane at New Globe Theatre, (16 January), Sydney's Bald Faced Stag (26 January) and finally at Werribee’s Mynt Lounge (6 February), where they switch roles with The Soulenikoes to serve as openers for their stalwart tourmates, in a warm-up of sorts before Shades Of Black drops, with a release date TBA.

Additional supports for the run include Arakeye (Melbourne, Bendigo), Lung (Melborune), Starr Gun (Bendigo), and Flynn Effect and Galapagos (both Brisbane).
