Punk rock covers group Me First and the Gimme Gimmes have announced they'll be back in the country come October for a slew of headline dates.

The band, made up of current and ex-members of Swingin' Utters, NOFX, Lagwagon and No Use For a Name, will return to Australia for the first time since their 2010 appearances at No Sleep Til festival. The quintet, who exclusively perform punk renditions of popular songs, are longtime visitors to the country. 2011 saw the group release their 'Go Down Under' EP, featuring covers of the likes of INXS, The Easybeats and Olivia Newtown-John.

Tickets go on sale July 26 at 9am.
