Melotov Records offered the following summary:

After months and months of waiting, and months and months of set backs (drummers coming and going, a crashed hard drive, a little rain by the name of Sandy, etc) there has finally been progress made with The Banner’s first release since “Frailty”.

Born to Ruin pt. 1 will be released in late July via cassette and will be accompanied with a digital download, exclusive artwork, and shows in promotion of the tape. Because this is being treated as a demo for the four-part series that TB mastermind, Joey Southside, has concocted, we found it fitting to release it in true “Demo tape” fashion.

“Born to Ruin pt. 1” will be available in late July 2013. Official release date and pre-order date TBA.
