Sydney heavy-hitters Sienna Skies just wrapped up travelling the country supporting Silverstein on their headline Australian tour. Killyourstereo.com is proud to host the exclusive tour blog for the local band, continuing with part two written by guitarist Nick Musgrave. To introduce myself, I'm Nick and I play guitar in 'Sienna Skies'. Most would know me as the guitarist with the shorter hair, who is usually hiding behind our keyboardist Matty on stage. Here to bring you up to date on our tour with Canadian band 'Silverstein' from the Sydney leg. After driving home overnight from Melbourne following the Corner Hotel show, we arrived in Sydney late morning and all took the chance to catch up on sleep and rejuvenate at our own houses beforehand. Along with the excitement of playing with Silverstein, we really couldn't have asked for a better night at the Manning Bar show. We had the pleasure of having Ghosts on Broadway & Caulfield supporting whom we are mates with, along with many good friends of ours who came along to show their support.

We took to the stage in what was definitely our most amped up state since the tour began. Feeding off of all the energy in the room we hardly stopped moving for our entire set, and left the stage feeling incredibly satisfied. After warming the stage for our new Canadian friends, they came out with a bang and reminded everyone of the musicianship and showmanship that comes with being a successful international band over a solid career.

Following on from a sleep at our own places, we set off again in the van headed for the Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle, with a few road beverages on the way. After the local supports, we came on to play what was definitely our best show to date at the Cambridge. Silverstein opened up as they had in the preceding shows with 'Stand Amid The Roar', the 1st track off their new album 'This Is How The Wind Shifts'. It gets the crowd moving right away and sets an energetic tone for their set, which consists of a great list of their best songs, new and old, including a stripped back classic with just Shane and his guitar.

One memorable moment during their set was when a well-pissed patron decided to hop up on stage and down Silverstein's jug of beer. It received a comedic serve of embarrassment from the band and crowd, but unfortunately he was escorted out before he could buy the band another, much to Shane's disappointment. It resulted in what was definitely the quote of the night….. "NO ONE STEALS BEER FROM A CANADIAN!"

We hit the road straight after the show and drove through the night up to Queensland as we wanted to carry out our ritual activities, which we do whenever we enter the state, namely a breakfast buffet and swim at Surfers Paradise. Which brings us to the present, waiting for tonight's show to start at Brisbane's 'The Hi-Fi’, which we're incredibly excited about. The venue is huge, and I'm sure we will lose our shit playing here tonight, as it will be a first for us. We always knew how quickly this tour would be over, but I'm sure that none of us are going to want it to end when it comes to the Perth show tomorrow.
