American progressive metallers Periphery are teaming up with Japanese metalcore outfit Crossfaith for Soundwave sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.
Mixing brain-melting polyrhythmic patterns with sheer brute force, Periphery – along with fellow progressive metallers Meshuggah, The Human Abstract and Animals as Leaders – are pushing metal into increasingly complex and uncharted territory. Periphery’s sophomore album was a particularly popular listen around the Killyourstereo.com office last year:
“Where the debut self-titled album had a few holes and areas of improvement, this release seems more tight in both production and delivery. It’s that natural progression every band should strive to achieve. Very good” – Killyourstereo.com’s Kane_H on Periphery II.
Joining Periphery are Japan’s Crossfaith, who are making their maiden journey to Australia as part of the massive Soundwave lineup. Heralded as leaders within the Japanese screamo/metalcore scene, Crossfaith will be firing on all cylinders as they roadtest tracks from their new EP, Zion.
Tickets on sale 18 January at 9 am.
