For Today have announced the departure of guitarist, Mike Reynolds, after he recently tweeted a homophobic rant. The band has stated that long-time friend of the band, Sam Penner, will be joining the band following Reynold's sudden departure

After recently posting a series of homophobic tweets, For Today guitarist Mike Reynolds has left the band to pursue studies at bible college, beginning the path to full-time missionary stints in the Middle East.

Reynolds' recent outburst against homosexuality, gay Christians and 'progressive Liberal agenda' has caused upset throughout the online world, with other bands taking a stand against his strong opinions. Rou Reynolds from Enter Shikari spoke out about the issue. He posted his thoughts on the official Enter Shikari website yesterday.

"When religion begins to dictate education and curriculum or starts calling people evil for harmlessly fulfilling their romantic destiny, it needs to simply fuck off," Rou said. "For that is religion being misapplied to where it frankly has no business being."

For Today have announced on facebook that their long-time friend, Sam Penner (from In The Midst of Lions), will be replacing Reynolds.
