Behemoth frontman Nergal (Adam Darksi) has come face-to-face with the bone marrow donor who helped save his life.

Nergal was diagnosed with leukaemia back in 2010 and, via the donation of bone marrow and extensive treatments, has since made a full recovery.

The black metal musician has long stated he wanted to meet and thank his anonymous donor, however, due to identity regulations regarding bone marrow donations, Nergal had to wait two years to meet his bone marrow donor, 25-year-old Gregory Kite.

During an emotional encounter on December 17, Nergal thanked Kite for life” upon meeting him for the first time.

According to Polish news source TVN24, Nergal said: “The bottom line is that we won life, there are people, doctors who are struggling and want to win this life”.

Footage of the encounter can be seen here (though the video and text are in Polish).

In other Behemoth news, the band are reportedly recording a new album in February.
