Paul McCartney took the stage at the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy Benefit concert in New York City, joined by former Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear, to perform a new song they had written together titled 'Cut Me Some Slack'.

Paul McCartney took the stage at the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy Benefit concert in New York City, joined by former Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear, to perform a new song they had written together titled 'Cut Me Some Slack'.


Prior to the performance, McCartney had said, "I didn’t really know who they were. They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said ‘Whoa? You guys haven’t played together for all that time? And somebody whispered to me ‘That’s Nirvana. You’re Kurt.’ I couldn’t believe it."

McCartney reiterated on stage that he was initially unaware he was playing with members of Nirvana.


Cut Me Some Slack’ will feature on the soundtrack for Dave Grohl’s Sound City film, and can be pre-ordered now on iTunes.
