2012 witnessed new Adelaide band, Red Leather Riot explode onto the scene with their stripped back, bass driven approach to playing music - which if you would attempt to pigeon hole them as a genre, you would loosely fit into categories of Post Rock, New Wave and Punk. This female led four piece emerged from the southern suburbs earlier this year and quickly gained a buzz amongst the public, music organisers and other bands alike, playing their very first show at the Enigma Bar with Adelaide favourites; Nostics and Jungle City. They have since begun to carve a niche into the local music scene with their unique sound and high energy shows that are both engaging and packed with attitude. In the lead up to the ill-fated and somewhat sceptically anticipated Mayan end of the world prediction of December 21, Red Leather Riot are again teaming up with Jungle City and new youngsters: Iron Feather to (perhaps) play what might be the last show on Earth - at where else but the Worldsend. Who knows? You may even survive with some free giveaways.
