"To all Dream On Dreamer fans and family.
I have both incredible and saddening news. I feel it is better to start with the incredible news first, and that is that my girlfriend and I have been rewarded with the news that in April next year we will be expecting our first child.

The saddening news is that after much conversation and planning, we have had to make the decision that I can no longer continue to play in Dream On Dreamer. This band has been my life for the last three and a half years and although I will miss it greatly, what lies ahead promises to be the most fulfilling and rewarding thing in my life and we can not wait.

I feel that although I have full support from my girlfriend, family and friends in continuing to pursue my goals and dreams, I felt like I had no option but too step down from my position in Dream On Dreamer. It was not only my dream I was chasing but mine was only one of six, and I have to respect what the other guys are wanting to achieve with this band. As you know Dream on Dreamer has always been a band that wants to reach fans all over the world, and that’s exactly what they will continue to do and I hope you continue the support you have always given me, as I’ll be busy changing dirty nappies and singing hot potato along with the wiggles.

The past few years have been such an incredible ride and I have loved every moment of it. But In saying that it’s had just as many hard times too. Being in a band is a massive commitment financially and emotionally. We have had up’s and downs and overcome a lot. We achieved amazing results in such a short time which had seen us play to thousands of people all over the world. I’ve travelled hours on the open road to play shows, I’ve slept on floors, stages and in vans, scrounged up what little money I had just to eat on day’s while touring but I would not change it for the world.

I have no one more to thank than you guy’s, the fans. You stuck by me and supported us every step of the way and helped me achieve things I thought were not even possible. And I hope you will continue to do so in the future.

The Dreamer boys are some of my best friends in the world and I will stay close with them forever. I know they are going to keep moving around the world and doing everything they can, and I will try to stay involved wherever I can.

Thank you so much to every fan and friend I have had the pleasure of meeting world wide and band I’ve shared the stage with. I will miss you all and hope I meet you all again in the future.

For now, I’ll be playing all the upcoming shows - The Movember Mayhem tour and the New Years Eve shows. I hope you all can come out and help me finish this incredible chapter of my life in the best possible way. I know this music chapter of my life has not completely closed but for now I have to bookmark this page.

The boys new album next year is going to rule hard, make so please make sure you pick it up and continue to support amazing music.

With love,

Michael “Mcoy” McLeod

Similarly, the rest of the band posted a statement regarding the news:

The remaining members of Dream On Dreamer would firstly like to say a huge thankyou to Mcoy, our brother who we are proud of beyond any words we can say. He has been a solid rock and one of the most talented humans we’ve ever met. We can’t wait to meet his baby and watch his family grow. Family ALWAYS comes first and we see this man as our family, and his family as part of our band forever.

We don’t have news yet on a new vocalist, but for now come and see us on the Movember Mayhem tour and give Mcoy the send off he deserves.

Everyone take care of yourselves.
