EXCLUSIVE: At The Gates vocalist won’t rule out new album

Tomas Lindberg, vocalist of seminal Swedish melodic death metal outfit At The Gates, has told Killyourstereo he won’t rule out the possibility of the band writing another album.

Speaking to Killyourstereo’s Kane_H, Lindberg had the following to say when quizzed about the likelihood of new material:

“Well basically I’ve learnt never to say never. We said we’d never do any more shows whatsoever and now we’re doing shows [again]. 2008 was the last tour we were going to do and now we are doing more [shows]. I learned not to say never you know”.

While we really shouldn’t jump the gun or misconstrue what Lindberg said, it’s certainly exciting knowing that the possibility of new material is still lingering in their minds.

At The Gates released their last studio album, Slaughter of the Soul, in 1995. The album is widely cited as a classic within metal circles.

At The Gates will tour Australia later this month, playing shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
