Folk ensemble Bon Iver are reportedly not breaking up despite recent comments made by founding member/singer-songwriter Justin Vernon.

In an interview with Minnesota radio station 89.3 The Current, Vernon said he’s considering taking an extended break from the band.

(I’m) winding it down,” Vernon said. “I look at it like a faucet. I have to turn it off and walk away from it because so much of how that music comes together is subconscious or discovering. There's so much attention on the band, it can be distracting at times. I really feel the need to walk away from it while I still care about it. And then if I come back to it - if at all - I'll feel better about it and be renewed or something to do that”.

However, the band’s label, Jagjaguwar, has since refuted Vernon’s comments by telling Pitchfork that Bon Iver is not breaking up and is “just going off cycle after two very busy years”.

Justin Vernon recently put out a call to fans to design his new tattoo.

Bon Iver were last in the country as part of the Golden Plains music festival.
