After much speculation and rumours, pop punk veterans Blink-182 have confirmed that they will be travelling to our shores for Soundwave 2013. The band announced the news via a photo on their Facebook page, showing the words "Soundwave 2013" above an outback setting and a kangaroo warning sign with band stickers plastered on it.

The band announced the news via a photo on their Facebook page, showing the words "Soundwave 2013" above an outback setting and a kangaroo warning sign with band stickers plastered on it. 

Returning to Australia after an eight-year absence, the festival run will give Aussie fans their first glimpse of the band since their reunion in 2009. The band will showcase new material from their 2011 album 'Neighborhoods' as well as a selection of their greatest hits.

Drummer Travis Barker has stated his intentions to overcome his fear of flying in order to make the trip, but the band may use a substitute drummer if this is unable to be achieved. 

The main lineup for Soundwave 2013 will be released on August 8th. Tickets will be released on August 15th
