Heroes For Hire announce tour supports

Local supports and two venue changes have been announced for the upcoming "Just Shoe It" tour, featuring Heroes For Hire with special guests, Luca Brasi and Carry Me Home.

Since announcing the Just Shoe It Tour in April, Heroes For Hire have kept themselves busy, wrapping up the recording of their third album with none other than Steve Klein of New Found Glory, while also snaring the national support for the rapidly-selling Yellowcard tour this September.

Originally booked at The Loft, the July 1st Brisbane all-ages show will now be taking place at Elements Collective, located on McLachlan Street in Fortitude Valley. The July 11th show set to take place at the Karova Lounge, Ballarat, has now been cancelled, with all bands now performing in Bega on the same date.

Are you kidding? It is bad enough that take us to vegas are on even one of the queensland shows. Queensland supports need to start stepping up. sick of seeing the same crap bands.

  2. teeznuts

Im not in a band, not into the whole girl in a band thing. and this isnt a whinge, listen to them or even look at pictures and seriously tell me that you dont instantly get pissed off. Also, I dont know how much you know of the music promotions industry (especialy around Queensland) but there are certain promoters who run pretty much every show, not as easy as submitting a band for a show.

@rick_j_collins (4): you give me their myspace to look up…whats up 2005. and I have seen them live multiple times, have met them, followed them on various social networking platforms, I know enough about them to enforce my opinion that they are exactly what is wrong with the music scene in Queensland. Which band are you really from? be interesting to see how credible your opinion is.

  4. rick_j_collins

First up you said “not into the whole girl in a band thing” pretty sure they are all guys. Type take us to Vegas into a search engine and their MySpace is the first thing that comes up. Also not that it matters I am currently in Burning Brooklyn and I have supported/been a part of this genres music scene for quite a few years. I played with these guys a few weeks back At the basement. They put on an amazing energetic show and if they toured Australia I think they would be proving to the country the great acts currently coming out of a struggling scene.

@rick_j_collins (6): I said that because you said “submit your band”, i said I was not in a band because I am a fucking girl and do not like girl bands. I AM aware they have no girls in the band, as I said, I HAVE SEEN THEM LIVE. I have actually seen you guys play live too and can not believe you are saying that. I am not attacking them personally or yourself, I am just saying over other bands, including youtselves, they did not deserve those spots. I wonder why Todd chose to put them on the show instead of you guys though, considering he doesnt book for them.

  6. rick_j_collins

Oh I misread your your comment you are a girl, that’s why your not in a band. Sorry. Still everything else I said I stick by.

  7. teeznuts

@rick_j_collins (8): I used to book shows and know pretty much every promoter in Brisbane and North QLD. I know how it all works, I respect you sticking to your opinion but alot of other bands deserve these kind of shots alot more than these guys. bands that actually work hard and dont need stupid youtube covers to get over with people. would really be interested in talking to todd about why you they got the spot over one of his own bands that he actually books for. I could name SO many other bands that would have been a better pick. You guys, Goodnight Midnight, Drawcard, Finders keepers, Amberain, Dollarosa, The Esplanade, Chapters, as oceans die, the list goes on. seen all of them live recently and ALL of them actually work harder than take us to vegas and put on a better show.

    Who cares, this is on the same evening;

Luca Brasi fucking rule, I couldn’t give two shits (or one for that matter) bout the other bands because I dont like their particular sound and because I don’t like them live either.

Long story short; bands get picked on personal likes/favors from promoters and the bands ability to broadcast the show and pull additional punters (yes, these two generally correlate with ability, but stats101; correlation aint causation).

P.s. I have book nationally and I don’t really care about who got supports due to not really caring about this show (bar the Brasi lads) and Basement playing the same evening.

Who are you Teeznuts? You’re talking about me like you know me, and things you’re saying can’t be further from the truth.

I no longer work full time at Basement (and haven’t for quite a while), and while I did get initially book this gig in for the venue, I had zero say in the supports, in fact, I submitted bands to the promoter like everyone else.

    Cheers, Todd.

Thanks for the mention teeznuts… I manage Finders Keepers and I agree your list is quite good. I work with Todd on a few shows and what he has said is true – Trad does the bookings and management at the Basement now. Once again thanks again for the PR!

  11. teeznuts

@djtripp (11): I am aware of the basement situation and have worked with you in the past, so I do know you. Did trad kick you from booking?

@ashplatz (12): So many other bands that I could add to that list, I dont mind supporting and giving a shout out to bands that actually deserve it and work hard, bands that have talent.

  12. ashplatz

Either way – thanks for the mention! Feel free to come check out a Finders Keepers show in July/August once the new EP is done!
