Mastodon comment on Grammy nomination

Atlanta metallers Mastodon have commented on their recent Grammy nomination, with the band earlier in the week receiving a nod in the category for ‘Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance’.

The group was recognised with the nomination, joining Megadeth, Sum 41, Dream Theater and Foo Fighters in the previously mentioned category.

"We were so excited to find out that we’ve been nominated for a Grammy. It’s a huge honor (sic) for our band, and we really appreciate the recognition," Mastodon said.

The official nomination list for ‘Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance’:

DREAM THEATER – ‘On The Backs Of Angels’
FOO FIGHTERS – ‘White Limo’
MASTODON – ‘Curl Of The Burl’
MEGADETH – ‘Public Enemy No. 1’
SUM 41 – ‘Blood In My Eyes’

Mastodon will tour Australia next year as part of Soundwave 2012.

wow that’s pretty massive for Sum 41, doubt they’ll get it as they’re against so many more widely known bands but kudos to them for the nominee!
