Angelas Dish, from the New South Wales’ Central Coast will be heading to New York and Orlando, Florida from late October to work on album number 3 with renowned US producer/mixer Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Incubus, Story Of The Year, Stone Temple Pilots). This partnership is not a new one; Elvis mixed three songs from the band’s 2010 release Walk Into The Sky – and clearly, he liked what he heard! Elvis has signed on to work on this album as producer, contributing some of his extensive song-writing knowledge to the project.
With good friend and producer Sonny Truelove in tow, Angelas Dish (Mick Harris – lead vocals, Josh Harris – guitar and vocals, Peter Clarke – bass and Chris Allison – drums) is deeply ensconced in rehearsals for their new album. “We’re incredibly excited to be able to work with Elvis and Sonny again” frontman Mick Harris explains, “and, given his previous successes, we feel very blessed to be able to have this chance to walk in the footsteps of bands as skilled as these”.
Working with big names is something Angelas Dish is no stranger to. Since the inception of Angelas Dish over 10 years ago, they have toured heavily around the country taking in several major festivals including Soundwave, Come Together, Make Poverty History, Pushover and Strikeback; as well as scoring supporting roles for Jimmy Eat World, 30 Seconds to Mars, Anberlin and Copeland. 2011 saw Angelas Dish return in force, with their brand new single ‘Crash’ and video clip in tow.
Angelas Dish experienced success with their debut album War On Time, when single ‘Soft November’ peaked at #17 on the ARIA singles chart and #1 on the AIR chart, with the video becoming #1 most requested on Channel [V]. 2010 saw the release of second album Walk Into The Sky and, in order to get their music out to as many people as possible, created a mixtape of songs from it as a free download here.
Luckily, you don’t have to wait any longer to hear new music from Angelas Dish. A new 5-track EP Me & You will be released September 23 and preorders are available now only through their Facebook account here.
You will be able to send your well wishes to Angelas Dish at their farewell shows in Melbourne and on the Central Coast, NSW – to be announced shortly. Angelas Dish is also performing at Black Stump Festival this October.
