New York indie rockers Vampire Weekend together with their label XL Records have settled an ongoing lawsuit, which centred on the use of a photo used on the band's 2010 full-length 'Contra'.

New York indie rockers Vampire Weekend together with their label XL Records have settled an ongoing lawsuit, which centred on the use of a photo used on the band's 2010 full-length 'Contra'.


Kristen Kennis, the women featured on the album's cover art alleged previously that she did not give consent for her image to be used.

Rolling Stone reports the following:


"Kennis had claimed that she did not provide consent to appear on the record sleeve, and that the photographer, Tod Brody, had forged her model release when the Polaroid shot was taken back in the Eighties."


The prominent music magazine additionally reports that Kennis was awarded an undisclosed settlement and the case has finally been dismissed by a Los Angeles federal court.


Vampire Weekend though are still participating in similar legal process, with the group now suing Brody for "misrepresenting his rights to the photo."
