Swedish prog metal veterans Opeth have released the first track to feature on the band's forthcoming album, 'Heritage'.

Swedish prog metal veterans Opeth have released the first track to feature on the band's forthcoming album, 'Heritage'.


Killyourstereo reported in May official details of the new studio album, which is a direct follow-up to 2008's 'Watershed'. Entitled 'The Devil's Orchard', the song recently became available via Stereogum.com.

"Swedish progressive metal stalwarts Opeth’s 10th album Heritage — which follows 2008′s Watershed and 2005′s Ghost Reveries — is their strangest, most genre-melding to date," Stereogum.com writes.


"It's quite intense at times in some 'old' murky way, and quite beautiful and stark at times, if I may say so myself," Opeth frontman and guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt said in a press release previously.
