Abigail Williams working on new album

Phoenix metal outfit Abigail Williams are currently writing a new studio album, with the band aiming to record the material come September.

The group made the announcement recently via their MySpace page, noting that work on full-length number three and follow-up to last year's 'In the Absence of Light' was well underway.

"ABIGAIL WILLIAMS has nearly completed the writing phase on material that is planned for the band's new album, expected for release in early 2012…ABIGAIL WILLIAMS' still untitled third album is set to be recorded in September," the band writes.

Additionally, vocalist/guitarist Ken Sorceron offered the following insights:

"The new material is a continuation of our last album but with more atmosphere and far more extreme tempos. We are adding back some of the symphonic elements that were on In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns album but without sacrificing any of the edge that was on In the Absence of Light. So far we are really happy with everything."
