Punk rock giants Rancid have announced that they will be recording their eighth studio album in September. In addition, the band has also promised to mark their 20th anniversary in 2012 with a world tour.

Rancid will tour with Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance, before playing four headlining shows to get "their chops up" for entering the studio. They will record the follow-up to 2009's "Let The Dominoes Fall" with Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz, who has previously worked on several of the band's releases. Gurewitz has also helmed records by NOFX, Millencollin, H2O and Pennywise.
