Mastodon guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds has taken time out of recording the band's new studio album, lending his talents to a recent restaurant commercial.

Mastodon guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds has taken time out of recording the band's new studio album, lending his talents to a recent restaurant commercial.


The advertisement, which promotes Atlanta eatery Elmyr, features Hinds parodying a fictitious disease called OHP.

The minute-long commercial made its way online this week via Newamerica.tv.


Mastodon are currently working on their fifth studio album, with drummer Brann Dailor previously stating the following: "It doesn't seem as proggy. There's moments, but it seems more riff-oriented. It seems a little more stripped down. [2004's] 'Leviathan' was a little more stripped down, and it feels like that to me."
