Veil Of Maya preparing new album

Chicago deathcore heavyweights Veil Of Maya were reportedly in Washington DC over the weekend ahead of their set at Bamboozle Festival, demoing brand new songs with friend and labelmate Misha Mansoor of Periphery.

Guitarist Marc Okubo had the following to say about the recording session, "The tracks we are demoing are coming out amazing and gives me the chills! We have spent lots of time on the road with Periphery and now working with Misha is an added bonus. He is beyond a genius and understands our focus for this next record. Things are faster, more technical and beyond any of our efforts thus far. We are also all really excited to go back overseas and play a full set for everyone over there. It’s a great line-up, so make sure you check the dates and come rage with us."

Veil Of Maya will take off the North American summer to finish writing and recording the effort, which will be the band’s fourth full-length and is due out later in the year via Sumerian Records. Drummer Sam Applebaum added, "We can’t wait for everyone to hear what we have been working on. We plan to make this the most over the top and best Veil Of Maya record yet. We will be hitting the road in the fall, so get stoked for a sick ass tour that will be a party every single night."

The band’s last album was "[id]", which was released in 2010 through Sumerian.
