Trevor Phipps, vocalist for Massachusetts metalcore leaders, Unearth recently caught up with SkullsNBones.com to discuss the band's forthcoming fifth studio album.Speaking to the music site, Phipps notes that the new album will contain strong guitar riffs, with the group adopting a slight old-school feel."Ken and Buz really stepped it up on this album, just like they have with the previous releases. It does sound like Unearth of course, but there are definitely more solos and we are taking more chances on the new record. It's more of a classic metal album compared to our previous releases. At the same time, I think it's by far our most crushing record. "The worst thing a band can do is try to change their sound to fit a trend…Of course, we like to challenge ourselves with different time signatures, scales and song arrangements, but for the most part Unearth is Unearth and always will be," he told Killyourstereo at the time.
