During the lengthy interview, Lombardo also spoke about the decision to chose Gary Holt from Exodus to temporarily replace Hanneman for live shows. Hanneman underwent emergency surgery to halt infection on his right arm after a spider bite.

"When we were at Hellfest in France, Gary was playing in Exodus, and he really impressed Kerry and myself, he did really good, we we're like 'man this guy's really good.' And then this happened with Jeff, Gary was the first person that came to mind, there was no second person.

"It feels good Gary started the style of music along with all of us in the Bay Area in Southern California. We're all connected, musically we're all connected. So him coming into the picture and contributing to our live performance was really easy and smooth"

The interview was shot in Brussels, Belgium, where Slayer is touring with Megadeth on the European Carnage tour.
