The band were joined onstage by Springsteen for three songs ('Peg 'O My Heart', 'Badlands' and 'I'm Shipping Up To Boston') during their show at Boston's House of Blues.

It is not the first time the two have performed together, with the Dropkick Murphys playing select songs with Springsteen back in 2009.

"He played two nights and Ken went to the first one. He called me at about 1am and told me to learn the song "American Land" because we had been asked by Bruce to play it with him the following night. From there it's all a blur," guitarist Tim Brennan told Killyourstereo last year about playing with Springsteen.

Dropkick Murphys are highly recognised for their St. Patrick's Day celebrations, having released CD/DVD, 'Live on Lansdowne' last year and live album, 'Live on St. Patrick's Day' back in 2002.

Dropkick Murphys's seventh studio album, 'Going Out in Style' hit stores at the start of this month.
