A riot broke out during the reunion show of Death From Above 1979 at the Beauty Bar Backyard venue during the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. The bands first show in five years attraced a large crowd of fans who knocked over a fence outside of the venue. Police intervened and reportedly used force and tasers on members of the crowd.

Police stormed the stage and stopped the band's set after efforts by band members to calm the crowd failed. The group were able to continue the show some time later when things settled down.
