Enduring Californian rockers Incubus have completed work on their seventh studio album according to recent news reports.
The band’s manager Steve Rennie informed fans of the completion via an Incubus fansite. In the post Rennie comments on the direction of the new material.
"Well its finally happened. Album #6 is in the can. Or should I say in the envelope. I picked up my copy (Copy #7) of the record last night at Henson Studios. Up until last night I’d only heard individual songs as they were being worked on, never final mixes, and never in sequence. Last night I heard the whole album and all I can say is "WOW".
Like previous records it is nothing like its predecessors. Quintessential Incubus, but like no Incubus record before it. Stay tuned folks the party is about to start. We can’t wait for you to hear it. Cheers-Ren"
The new, yet-to-be-titled full-length will mark the first studio album released since 2006’s ‘Light Grenades‘.
In the time between albums, Incubus went on a brief hiatus. "I’m of the mind to say it wouldn’t be a bad thing to disappear for a year or two years," vocalist Brandon Boyd told Ultimate Guitar back in 2008.
