In Flames announce new guitarist

Niclas Engelin has joined In Flames, replacing founding guitarist Jesper Strömblad In Flames have recruited a permanent replacement for guitarist Jesper Stromblad. Stromblad officially left the Gothenburg-based melodic death metallers in February of last year after a stint in rehab for alcohol abuse. Stromblad will be replaced by ex-Gardenian / Passenger / Engel guitarist Niclas Engelin, who is currently recording with the band for the follow up to 2008's A Sense Of Purpose which is tentatively titled Sounds Of A Playground Fading. Sounds Of A Playground Fading will be released later this year through Nuclear Blast.

In Flames have replaced founding guitarist Jesper Strömblad. Jesper announced his departure from the Swedish death metallers in February last year whilst overcoming an addiction to alcohol.


Replacing Jesper will be former Gardenian/Passenger/Engel guitarist, Niclas Engelin. The band are currently recording their 10th studio effort, Sounds Of A Playground Fading, set for release through Nuclear Blast late this year.
