triple j and The Push are excited to announce the winning band in the Push Over Unearthed Band Competition for 2011. Melbourne indie four-piece Husky, will join over 40 of the best Aussie indie, hardcore, rock and hip hop acts playing at Push Over 2011, Victoria’s longest running all ages music festival on Sunday 13 March at The Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne. Husky have recently returned from the USA to unveil a brand new single. Due for release February 26, History’s Door is the first taste of their dreamy, infectious sound. Forthcoming album, Forever So was recorded in a studio they built in their backyard and mixed in Los Angeles with Noah Georgeson (Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart, the Strokes). They have become known for their spirited and captivating live shows, and “are super excited to have the opportunity to play Push Over”. The band was hand-picked by the good music folk at triple j and Unearthed from a bevy of Melbourne bands who uploaded their music onto the Unearthed site.


Husky join a killer line-up of Aussie talent including Break Even, Children Collide, Dream On Dreamer, House Vs Hurricane, Howl (now Hunting Grounds), Gold Fields, Illy, Last Dinosaurs, Oh Mercy, Owl Eyes, Stonefield, The Tongue and many more, plus the freshest young Victorian acts, some of the country’s most fast and furious hardcore and metal bands and a full arena of bouncing hip hop music and break dance!


Push Over is a fully supervised all ages drug/alcohol /smoke-free event managed by non-profit youth music organisation The Push, open to 8-12 years (with an adult guardian) or over 12 years (without).
