Kate Miller-Heidke to appear on new Double Dragon album

Australia’s Double Dragon are currently at Adelaide’s Against The Grain Studios completing the final tracking on the follow up to their 2008 debut album ‘Devastator‘ (Truth Inc. Records/MGM). Their sophomore album "Sons Of Asena" is expected to be available later this year. Since the release of Devastator, Double Dragon have toured nationally with Slayer, Megadeth, Chimaira, The Haunted and Soilwork to name a few. Since then the band has added drummer Liam Weedall (ex-Sonic Euphoria, Asphyxia) and bassist Josh Lamonte (ex-A Red Dawn, The Scabs).

Brisbane based ARIA award nominee and platinum selling Sony BMG singer songwriter Kate Miller – Heidke has been confirmed as a guest vocalist for the album’s closing track, titled ‘Asena‘. Also contributing guitars to the track will be Miller-Heidke‘s husband, co-songwriter and guitarist for her band, Keir Nuttal.

Vocalist Lee Gardiner comments "We are all pretty excited with how this album is turning out. Having two new members has definitely altered our sound, as well as taking in everything we have learned from releasing an album, touring and playing alongside some of our hero’s. Having Kate and Keir on our album is for me , a really big deal, I am a massive fan of their music and what they have contributed to ‘Asena‘ is really going to surprise people familiar with their music – I have always wanted to hear them both on a really heavy track and now I have my wish! We really can’t wait to get this thing out, we have been working on it solidly for the last 12 – 18 months, as soon as its at the mastering stage we will be sending it out to labels in preparation to finally play some shows outside of Australia. We are itching like you would not believe to play in Asia, Europe and the US . When we come over we hope you are nice to us!"
