Gareth McGrillen, bass player for prominent electronic rock sextet Pendulum has recently opened up about the experiences the band shared recording with iconic Swedish metallers In Flames last year.

Gareth McGrillen, bass player for prominent electronic rock sextet Pendulum has recently opened up about the experiences the band shared recording with iconic Swedish metallers In Flames last year.


The UK/Australian based outfit collaborated with In Flames vocalist Anders Friden on track 'Self Vs Self', which featured on 2010's well-received third studio album, 'Immersion'.

Speaking to AOL's Noisecreep, McGrillen talked about the group's pre-exisiting appreciation for the popular metal act.


"Our favorite (sic) band growing up was In Flames. That was incredible to work with them, since they have been an influence for so long. They are our favorite (sic) metal band, so we thought, 'Let's do a track with them.' When we supported Iron Maiden on tour in Europe, Anders came out and did the song with us onstage and there were 80,000 metal fans in the UK appreciating it," McGrillen stated.
