In a movement spawned by the likes of Exodus and Cro-Mags, it was Darkest Hour that led it into the new millennium. Since their inception in 1995, Darkest Hour has produced some of the most important music of its genre including 2000’s Mark Of Judas and 2005’s Undoing Ruin. In 2009 they released The Eternal Return, which saw the band perfecting their formula to its ultimate level, and are currently in the studio recording their seventh full-length, which will undoubtedly not be disappointing. Their tour of Australia will find the band performing new songs, in preparation for a February 2011 release, as well as old favourites for a show that will have moshpits moving and many heads banging.

Non-stop touring and methodical songwriting have seen Carnifex rise quickly among the modern death metal ranks. Their debut album, The Diseased And The Poisoned, was armed to the teeth with an arsenal of blast beats, machine gun riffs and vocals from the pits of hell, while the musical growth of their 2010 sophomore release, Hell Chose Me, has seen them tour with the likes of As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Unearth and The Black Dahlia Murder. With a live show that reflects the brutality and aggressiveness of their albums, audiences are going to get pummeled.

For the first time since 2006, Darkest Hour are returning to these shores to blow audiences away with music that still pushes the melodic death metal genre to the extreme and proves that they’re still a metal powerhouse to be reckoned with.
