Former Fall Out Boy front man Patrick Stump has discussed some of the details concerning his upcoming debut solo album.

Stump announced that the record will be titled "Soul Punk", and it should be released in February 2011. He has posted the hand-written sheet music for a new song, "Spotlight", on his website, and stated that whether or not "Spotlight" is the first single from the album, it will be the first song released for fans to hear.

Stump said:

"I'll let the label decide what's a single, but 'Spotlight' will be the first Soul Punk song people will hear, and that will happen very soon. In the meantime, I'm happy to let it just be notes on a page. The album should be out in February and as can be inferred from the long delay, it's changed dramatically from the album I alluded to a year ago."

Patrick debuted some of his solo material at the South by Southwest festival earlier in the year, but he has said that those songs "will not be on the record, but will receive a proper release."
