Parkway Drive win ARIA award

Byron Bay’s Parkway Drive were presented the inaugural ARIA for Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album for their third album "Deep Blue", at a ceremony in Sydney last night.

The award was announced during the first of five live shows, the iTunes Live: ARIA Awards Concert Series, held in Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens in the build-up to Sunday’s ARIA Awards ceremony. (Sunday, 7 November on Network Ten).

The Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album is part of six brand new categories introduced at this years ARIA awards with Airbourne, Dead Letter Circus, The Amity Affliction and Violent Soho being the other nominees.

    I agree with Amity being the rightful winner, but deep blue was a blast of fresh air. The only reason you dont like deep blue is because its not commercialised, or “edited” as their last 2 albums where.
    Listen to their oldest stuff and its the same, they’re just better at what they do naow.
